Tennessee Williams Annual Review No. 13 - 2012

Founded in 1998 by Dr. Robert Bray, the Annual Review remains the only regularly published journal devoted exclusively to the works of Tennessee Williams. The journal includes scholarship on Williams's plays, fiction, and poems and on the film adaptations of his works. Each issue also showcases at least one previously unpublished work by Williams.

The 2012 issue of the Annual Review features scholarly essays on The Rose Tattoo, This Is the Peaceable Kingdom, and Something Unspoken; an argument that Tennessee Williams's sister Rose was on the autism spectrum, rather than being schizophrenic; an exploration of the influence of Van Gogh and Gauguin, among other European painters, on Williams's writing; and a review of productions mounted nationwide for the Williams centenary. Readers will also find a transcription of a panel discussion held at the 2011 Tennessee Williams Scholars Conference regarding African American productions of Williams's plays.
